Washington, D.C. – The National Press Foundation announced today that it will present the Benjamin C. Bradlee Award for Editor of the Year to Leonard Downie, Jr., former Executive Editor of The Washington Post.
The award will be presented at NPF’s 26th annual awards dinner, February 10, 2009, at the Hilton Washington Hotel.

Linda Johnson Rice, chairman and CEO of Johnson Publishing Co., which publishes Ebony and Jet magazines, and operates EbonyJet.com, will receive the W.M. Kiplinger Award for Distinguished Contributions to Journalism. The prestigious award is being issued to her and her multi-generational family, which has nurtured and sustained a thriving publishing empire for more than half a century. |
The National Press Foundation announced today that it will award the 2008 Sol Taishoff Award for Distinguished Contributions to Broadcast Journalism to Charles Gibson, anchor of ABC News “World News with Charles Gibson.”
The award will be presented at NPF’s 26th annual awards dinner, taking place February 10, 2009 at the Hilton Washington Hotel.
